Choosing the Right Color for Your Cabinets
A color that looks great on a paint chip can look completely different across ten feet of cabinetry. A few things worth thinking through before you commit.
Check the Undertone
Almost every “white” or “gray” cabinet color leans warm or cool once it’s on the wall. Hold your sample next to your countertop and floor in daylight — undertones that clash are the most common regret we see.
Test It in Your Light
North-facing kitchens read cooler; south-facing rooms warm a color up. The same paint can look crisp white in one kitchen and slightly gray in another. Always sample on the actual cabinets, not just a wall.
Pair with Counters & Hardware
Dark countertops can carry a bold cabinet color; light counters usually pair better with a softer neutral. New hardware finish (brushed nickel, matte black, brass) changes how any color reads, too.
